In 2015, all the first four episodes of the season surfaced online before it aired.

Fans were naturally shook!

The leak came from media outlets who were given the episodes beforehand to review it.

Episode 5 titled ‘The Door’ accidentally got aired on HBO Nordic long before the official run-time.

The Internet was screaming ‘NOOO!’ as the leak revealed a major character death!

Recorded copies of the footage soon floated online.

Season 7

Season 7 suffered the most number of leaks. Almost all episodes preceded with a leak or a rumour of it. To the point that fans were waiting more for the leak of the week than the episode itself.

Before the show aired, the most of the plot got leaked on Reddit. Hackers had stolen it from HBO servers.

If that wasn’t enough, episode 4 ended up online in low-res, thanks to HBO’s Indian broadcast partner Hotstar’s lack of security.

Then, episode 5 script got revealed before it airs!

HBO Spain ‘accidentally’ aired Episode 6, for a whole hour! Fans live-streamed the entire thing on various platforms.

Season 7 finale was also ruined by the hacker Mr Smith and ends up in the dark web.

The upcoming and final season of GoT has already suffered leak, and part of episode 1 plot is lying on a Reddit thread.

As a Game of Thrones fan, I hope the show’s saga of leaks ends here, and I never have to update this story!
