A tweet by UN body, inviting convicted god-man Ram Rahim and his adopted daughter Honeypreet to join their world toilet day campaign caught everybody off-guard.
The tweet posted on Wednesday read: “Dear @insan_honey, we hope you & @Gurmeetramrahim will lend your voice and support #WorldToiletDay (sic).”
Even though this tweet was later deleted, it wasn’t clear whether it was a publicity stunt or just an honest mistake.
There was a lot of speculation and backlash by people regarding this tweet.
Ram Rahim was sentenced to 20 years in prison after being convicted of rape and his adopted daughter Honeypreet was arrested a day before, on charges of instigating riots after Ram Rahim’s sentencing.
It seems that whoever is handling UN Water’s twitter account was oblivious to this news.
At least 41 people were killed in the violence that ensued after Ram Rahim’s conviction, caused by his followers and subsequent police action in Haryana and Punjab.
