A Student Buys Coffee for a Stranger & Teaches Kindness to Twitter

A 19-year-old Ohio student, Mackenzie Mauller, paid for a stranger’s coffee & was surprised by the response she got.

A quote we hear often when we’re young, but forget as years go by. But 19-year-old Mackenzie Mauller didn’t. After she paid for coffee for a woman sitting behind her at Starbucks, the lady was so moved by her act that she surprised her with a hand-written letter and opened up how Mauller’s single act got her through a difficult time.

Mackenzie, a resident of Union Town in Ohio, tweeted this picture of the note, which has since gone viral with over 78 thousand likes and over 19 thousand retweets.

The stranger she had bought the coffee for, also replied to her tweet. Interestingly, It turns out that they are actually neighbours.

Starbucks also tweeted the photo with the caption “Kindness Matters.”

Twitter Vows to ‘Pay it Forward’ Too

Twitter users loved Mauller’s gesture and in responding to the viral tweet, they said how they too, will also try to be kind to strangers.

Some said it made their day while others shared their own stories of strangers being considerate and thoughtful.
