Women are often stared at by onlookers when they loiter the streets. The moral police would have you believe it’s because of what women wear – or simply because, they’re women.

Regardless of gender or sexual preference, it is always the individual’s right to decide what to wear.

A group of 15 boys under the ‘Why Loiter?’ campaign, therefore, took to the streets of Mumbai, dressed in women’s clothes to prove a point. And how. Responding to the call of Neha Singh, organiser of the revolutionary campaign, several men walked next to their women friends in solidarity, skirts and sarees.

So, free your mind and let no stereotypical gender roles ever define what you wear.

The documentation and filming  of the loiter walk was done by Shawn Lewis of Bombay Film Factory.

We, at The Quint, ask, “Why not free your mind, dress as you will, anytime, anywhere, and simply loiter”?
