Days after Congress MP Ranjeet Ranjan introduced a bill in the Lok Sabha seeking a cap on wedding expenses, a lavish pre-wedding video shot for Maharashtra BJP chief Raosaheb Danve's son has gone viral for all the wrong reasons.
Not surprisingly, the wedding ceremony for Santosh Danve, who is a BJP MLA in Maharashtra, held on March 2 was a no-holds-barred affair.
The pre-wedding video, which has garnered over 50,000 views on Facebook, has ‘grand’ written all over it, with super-expensive locations and clothes.
Shot by Dream Diaries, which does photo and video shoots of weddings and other events, the video is set to the John Newman number Love Me Again. It is doing the rounds of WhatsApp as well.
Pre-wedding shoots are usually considered a teaser to the wedding. As expected, the wedding was a lavish affair as well – with video invites, 30,000 guests, drone-mounted cameras and a designer set.
According to a report on the India Today website, the wedding venue was designed by art directors who gave it a ‘medieval era’ look.
There was a wide variety of food for the guests as well. The event, held in Aurangabad district, also created problems for locals as major roads were blocked for security purposes.
Santosh Danve is MLA from Bhokardan constituency. His father, Raosahaeb Danve, is a former Union Minister.
