JNU student leader Umar Khalid escaped unharmed after being shot at by an unknown assailant outside the Constitution Club of India in New Delhi on Monday, 13 August.
Khalid was there to attend a rally called “Towards a Freedom Without Fear” to protest against lynchings and crimes against women.
The incident took place 200 metres away from the Parliament’s wall.
Messages of solidarity poured in from the likes of composer Vishal Dadlani, actor Swara Bhasker, comedian Kunal Kamra, and politician Jignesh Mevani.
