US President Donald Trump is all set to deliver his first State of the Union Address, where he will address a joint sitting of the United States Congress.

However, even before Trump delivers his maiden speech at the prestigious event, a glaring printing error has taken stage, leaving the Trump administration red-faced.

The ticket to the State of the Union Address misspelt Union as ‘Uniom’, causing officials to scurry about in damage control.

The mistake was brought to notice by a Democrat politician Raul M Grijalva.

However, NDTV reported quoting AFP that the printing error was out of the ambit of the White House, and was instead acknowledged by the US House of Representatives. The office of the Sergeant of Arms at the US House of Representatives, which is in charge of printing the invites owned up to the mistake.

Speaking to AFP, a spokesperson said:

It was corrected immediately, and our office is redistributing the tickets.

However, the clarification came in a tad late, as Twitter had already found enough fodder to keep them in splits.

Battling a probe into his campaign's alleged ties with Russia and struggling to sell Americans on his leadership abilities, Trump will take credit for US economic gains in the past year in an address to Congress on Tuesday night.

Facing a deadline on an immigration controversy and strong Democratic opposition, he will also call for a bipartisan compromise of the type that has eluded him during a turbulent first year in office marked by partisan battles.

Trump will visit Capitol Hill to deliver his first State of the Union speech at 9:10 pm (7:40 am (IST) on Wednesday.
