Move over Cheap Thrills, it is time to twirl to Single Rehne De, and welcome the latest badass bride on the block – the ‘Single Rehne De’ bride!
Wedding season is upon us and so are constant updates on Instagram. So how are our millennial brides different from traditional brides?
They make their own rules! They ditch archaic customs to embrace more gender-neutral ones for getting married. They are also re-writing the set norms for the ‘demure’ bride. Right?
For those who are late to the party, earlier in May 2017, a wedding video caught everyone’s attention:
Like all wedding videos, this one too began with the visuals of a bride getting ready for the D-day. But, unlike all the other traditional videos, here was a bride singing and dancing unabashedly as she got ready!
Sia’s ‘Cheap Thrills’ plays in the background as she and her friends gear up to celebrate the special day.
However, like the ‘Cheap Thrills’ video, the ‘Single Rehne De’ video too did not go down well with some people on the internet. Trolls had a problem with the bride’s decision to ‘dance’ minutes before her wedding. Others said this isn’t what Indian traditions stand for.
But, ladies! don’t let trolls distract you, keep being badass!
