The Supreme Court has made the National Anthem mandatory before movies. How’s it going to work? Like this probably.

The Hon’ble Supreme Court of India has ordered “all the cinema halls in India shall play the national anthem before the feature film starts and all present in the hall are obliged to stand up to show respect to the national anthem.” Okay then.

But how’s it actually supposed to instill “a sense committed patriotism and nationalism” in the movie-going audience? Here’s a wild-guess of how this may work, with tongue firmly in cheek, of course.

You enter a cinema hall to chill, and relax, away from all your responsibilities and stress.

Then suddenly a barrage of nationalism sweeps across your screen.

Making you all emotional, and introspective about things happening in your country, for example corruption, hyper-nationalism...err...

And you think of the Supreme Court, thank it silently in your prayers, for saving the ‘patriots’ in us.
