A two-year-old girl ventured out in the dead of the night, ALONE, to buy candy from a Detroit gas station. CCTV footage shows the infant trying to buy candy from a CITGO station at 11 PM.
Store owner Mohamad Bazzi told Inside Edition that the girl even put two pennies on the counter. Immediately after, 911 was called, and officers came down to collect the nervous girl and track her parents. They apparently lived across the road and failed to notice the toddler leave home.
About an hour after the girl had been taken into custody, the family went to collect her. A senior police official reportedly gave the parents an earful for their carelessness.
Later, one of the reporters of Inside Edition crossed the same road at night, to show the perils that the girl could have encountered on the way.
The area is reportedly known to have a high crime rate.
