The second official trailer for Star Wars: The Last Jedi was released on 10 October, sending the Star Wars fandom into a meltdown.
The two-and-a-half-minute trailer features, among other actors, Daisy Ridley (Rey), Mark Hamill (Luke Skywalker), and Adam Driver (Kylo Ren).
Within two hours of its release, the trailer registered around half a million views on Youtube, and had almost 8,000 Facebook views.
Notably, the previous instalment in the franchise, The Force Awakens, holds the record for most YouTube views on a film trailer in the first 24 hours – with 88 million views.
Written and directed by Rian Johnson, The Last Jedi is the eighth segment in the Star Wars franchise.
