Devotees have gathered at the Kumbh Mela in Prayagraj for the second 'shahi snan' on Monday, 4 February. This day marks Mauni Amavasya, a tradition observed on a ‘no moon’ day during the Hindu month of ‘Magha’.

'Mauni Amavasya' is considered to be one of the most sacred days observed during the 50-day Kumbh Mela, which began on 15 January 2019.
