Salman Khan is the Indian Ambassador for the Rio Olympics. Period. Breathe in, breathe out. The news came as a surprise/shock to many in the sports fraternity. Wrestler Yogeshwar Dutt and former sprinter Milkha Singh questioned the need to get Salman for the post. But we believe he fits the role. Here’s why:
Excels in Baton Race
Bhai is lambi race ka ghoda. Yes, he can just hit and run. He has been running from pillar to post, brushing with the wrong side of the law. And yes, his movies become runaway successes too. So yes, there’s a lot of running there.

Salman Khan knows how to hit the bull’s eye. He has taken calculated risks and has managed to deliver back-to-back hits, with a new record almost every time. Salman is a man with a plan.

After completing his shoot for the day, Salman must have said to himself, “Aaj kuch toofani karte hain”, so he decided to shoot a black buck. Then Salman shot to fame and is still remembered for that, even though the movie may have slipped through the memories of the audience. Oh dear!

Salman Khan may or may not be at ‘fault’, but he preaches ‘love all’. After mentoring names like Pulkit Samrat and Zarine Khan, Sallu bhai recently launched Sooraj Pancholi, who also won a Filmfare. From ‘Being Human’ to being a coach, he seems to have mastered the art.
Smashing it for Sport
Be it a killer slingshot or winning a cricket match, Sallu bhai has donned many a hat.
Bhai can fit in anywhere, irrespective of critics. This is called Bhai ka swag. We sincerely hope Salman’s ‘star power attracts the youth’ – as the Indian Olympic Association would like us to believe – and doesn’t become a mere publicity stunt for his upcoming film, Sultan.
