Refrigerdating - a new dating app by tech giant, Samsung, promises to find you a perfect match based on the contents of your fridge!
Launched as an entertaining promotion for the Samsung Family Hub, the $4,000 refrigerator with a touchscreen on the door, the app lets you take a photo of the inside of your fridge. You can share these photos with other users and swipe left or right based on your food habits and cooking skills, among other things.
The app also allows users without the very expensive appliance to upload pictures manually.
Taking the phrase "it’s what’s inside that counts” a little too literally, Refrigerdating lets you pick and choose your match from a range of food preferences, from mouldy leftovers to gourmet ingredients.
Samsung believes this is an “organic” substitute for the filtered reality of social media.
The app also recommends keeping an open mind because “it’s the unexpected mixes that make three star restaurants.”
