PM Modi ‘Proud’ of Women’s Cricket Team, Applauds Their Tenacity

Prime Minister Narendra Modi sent individual messages to each and every member of India’s World Cup team.

India dominated the women’s world cup finals on Sunday for most part, but by the end of 100 overs lost to England by 9 runs. Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi took to Twitter to convey that he was “proud of the team”.

He also appreciated the team’s “remarkable tenacity” and praised them for their skills throughout the tournament.

India had a fairytale run at the mega-event in England, and reached finals after beating Australia in the semi-finals.

Modi Tweets Praising Individual Players

“Who is not a fan of Harmanpreet Kaur,” asked Prime Minister Narendra Modi as he sent out individual wishes to each and every member of the Indian women’s World Cup team ahead of their final against England at Lord’s on Sunday.

In a series of tweets from his personal handle, Modi, first dedicated a tweet to the team, and then sent a message for each of the members of India’s playing eleven for the big final.
