Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) received flak after a video that showed a mother pleading the airline staff to open the plane doors as her baby was experiencing breathlessness before take-off went viral on social media.
According to The Times of Karachi, the incident took place on a flight en route to Islamabad from Paris.
“National flag carrier PIA switched off air conditioning and closed the doors for about two hours after all the passengers were on-boarded including infants struggling for fresh air to survive,” wrote The Times of Karachi on Facebook.
They later updated the post informing people that the child was fine.
In a press statement, PIA clarified that the delay was only by 30 minutes. However, passengers claimed that they were stranded for over 2 hours.
