In what looks like a season of biopics and movies sprinkled with a dose of politics, another addition comes in way of My Name Is RaGa. The movie claims to be a biopic based on the life of Congress President Rahul Gandhi.
The teaser of the movie that was launched a day ago looks more like a parody movie, according to many Twitter users. Some users also called it “propaganda”.
The teaser shows a young Rahul playing in a swimming pool as Indira Gandhi looks on with pride. The boy’s lavish upbringing is unmistakable, and the teaser also shows Indira Gandhi being shot in front of his eyes and him crying over her dead body. The script seems too insipid with an even more dubious shooting style, cinematography and acting.
Here’s how the Twitterverse reacted to the teaser:
A user wondered whether it was a movie made solely to troll the Opposition leader.
While another termed it a “comedy movie”.
The movie is helmed by Rupesh Paul and will reportedly be released before the 2019 general elections.
My Name Is Raga is the latest political biopic ahead of the elections. Also, in the making is a Narendra Modi biopic starring Vivek Oberoi in the lead.
