Unless you’ve been living under a rock, you've already heard about the lavender-haired goddess, Megan Rapinoe.
The co-captain and star of the United States’ women’s soccer team, Rapinoe generated weeks’ worth of buzz immediately before and following the US’ win, for her remarks about Trump and FIFA.
In the wake of her explosion onto the international scene, a fan (lots of fans, actually) wants to see her on the front cover of the latest version of the video game series, FIFA. There’s now a petition on Change.org, urging the video game company Electronic Arts (EA) to put Rapinoe on the cover of FIFA 2020.
“FIFA needs to change its policy on prize money, but that’s just the start. More exposure of this team and women’s football will help change their minds. EA has already done more than FIFA in terms of support so this is a no-brainer, which I know they must be contemplating. Much respect to IGN for the original post and image on social media.”Darren Holland on Change.org
The petition has already been signed by 1,384 people, and more people are joining in.
Her fans on Twitter have been sharing the link to the petition, too.
Do you think EA Sports should put Rapinoe on the front cover of FIFA 2020? Will you be signing the petition?
