While Kerala is still recovering from the havoc caused by the recent rain and floods, the people there have not forgotten the fishermen who have been the backbone of the rescue efforts.
One such fisherman, who bent down in almost knee-deep water so that three women could step on him to get into a rescue boat, has been recently rewarded for his effort.
Jaisal KP was hailed a hero after a video showing his selfless act in a village in Mallapuram went viral on social media.
Two elderly women and a young mother with her baby safely climbed into a rescue boat with his help as he became a “human step”.
Appreciating his heroic efforts, a Mahindra vehicles' dealer in Kozhikode gifted Jaisal KP a brand new car which was handed over to him by Excise and Labour Minister of Kerala, TP Ramakrishnan.
‘A Standing Ovation to Kerala Fisherman’
Twitter, too, was full of praises for Mahindra & Mahindra for giving the due reward to this unsung hero.
Even Anand Mahindra, the Executive Chairman of Mahindra Group, was also tagged in one such tweet about this Kerala fisherman.
Sideek Ahmed, the Chairman and Managing Director of Eram Motors, also took to Twitter to post about it.
