In Memoriam: People Pay Tribute to Kate Spade

There’s been an outpouring of condolences for designer Kate Spade.

Kate Spade, a designer, visionary and successful entrepreneur who built her own handbag empire from scratch, was found dead in her apartment in New York on Tuesday, 5 June.

She allegedly committed suicide.

There has been an outpouring of grief on Twitter for the designer. Actor David Spade, Kate’s brother-in-law, tweeted, “I dont think everyone knew how fucking funny she was...”

Many others, including Donald Trump’s daughter Ivanka, tweeted about the tragic loss.

So gutted to hear the news about Kate Spade. KS has brought me so much joy over the years. That might sound silly, but I’ve always bought KS bags & etc for myself and loved ones as big life mile markers when I was able. This is awful.

Many celebrities, celebrating the memory of the designer, donned Kate Spade’s clothes and accessories.

The incident has once again brought attention to mental health and the stigma attached to it.
