As Ireland passed the world’s first national vote on LGBT rights, support in favour of the historic legislation poured in from around the world. J.K. Rowling, the author behind the Harry Potter series, and a vocal supporter of equal rights expressed her “awe” and tweeted in support of the people of Ireland.
Dumbledore and Gandalf
Her tweet was well received by her 4.68 million Twitter followers. In response to one of them, Rowling went a step further, and tweeted again. This time, referencing both Dumbledore, a creation of hers, and Gandalf, the fictional wizard from the Lord of The Rings.
Her tweet was reported widely, but the response to one of them was less than desirable.

Hate Speech aficionados at the Westboro Baptist Church tweeted this.
Mischief Managed
Rowling is famous for her sarcasm-laced tweets. However in response to what the Westboro Baptist Church had to say, she gave an awesomely rogue bludger-like response.
