What makes for a good advertisement? Over its seven season long run, Mad Men, AMC's drama about a prestigious advertising firm in New York in the 1960s, experimented with a number of unconventional advertising pitches, including one for Heinz Ketchup.

And now, the ketchup giant has decided to run one of the ad campaigns that was pitched by Mad Men’s Sterling Cooper agency.

Interestingly, when Don Draper pitched the “Pass the Heinz” ad campaign to the ketchup giants in the season six episode, titled ‘To have and to hold’, it was rejected. The ad was pitched as something that would work on the “imagination of the consumer”. But it was shot down for being only “half an ad”.

Cut to 2017, and in an instance of life imitating art, Heinz is now all set to run the ad in the US. Interestingly, Don Draper and Sterling Cooper have been given the credit for the ads.
