On William Shakespeare’s 400th death anniversary on 23 April, Google doodle paid tribute to the great bard, whose works have left a great impression on English literature.
Sitting in the centre, Shakespeare, is seen surrounded by popular episodes from some of his noted works, ranging from tragedies to comedies.
On his left, is Hamlet with a skull, then Brutus holding a dagger behind Julius Caesar, Desdemona’s handkerchief, followed by Romeo climbing up Juliet’s balcony.
On Shakespeare’s right, is a shipwreck from The Tempest, King Lear on his throne, the three witches of Macbeth, and finally a scene from A Midsummer Night’s Dream.
