Oxford just picked the ‘Face with Tears of Joy’ emoji to be its Word of the Year 2015.

The Oxford Dictionaries Word of the Year 2015 is an emoji. Yes, you got that right. The laughing, teary-eyed emoji is also called the ‘Face with Tears of Joy’.

The emoji was chosen as it ‘reflects the ethos, mood and preoccupations of 2015.’
