As Google released the list of its top trends of the year, Sonam Gupta was one of the most searched personalities in India.
After Donald Trump and PV Sindhu, ‘bewafaa’ Sonam Gupta was the ‘personality’ whom indians were interested in, even more than Dipa Karmakar who won a million Indian hearts.

Does India care more about an unknown person who may or may not have betrayed someone, than someone who made the country proud at Olympics? Or was it the mere curiosity of knowing who exactly Sonam Gupta was? Whatever the case, Sonam Gupta surely interested Indians.

The most surprising part is that Sonam Gupta was searched two times more than Dipa Karmakar.
The peak of Dipa Karmakar search was 48 while that of Sonam Gupta was 100. Surprised?
So in the tussle between an Olympics player and internet sensation, the latter surely has the upper hand!
