Days after the picture of MS Dhoni holding Pakistan skipper Sarfraz Ahmed's four-month-old son right went viral, the latter said that his son would “fondly remember” sitting on the lap of “a great player and captain”.
Watch the video:
In an interview with a TV channel, this is how he recounted the moment:
I was sitting in the lobby of a hotel with my family. I saw Dhoni there and went up to him and asked him to click a picture of himself with Abdullah. When Abullah grows up, he would fondly remember that he once sat on the lap of a great player and captainSarfraz Ahmed, Pakistan cricket captain
While the Champions Trophy final between India and Pakistan on 18 June - where the latter ultimately notched up a comfortable victory - generated a lot of negativity on social media, the camarederie and sportsmanship displayed by players from both sides was a welcome relief.
Apart from Dhoni’s photo with Ahmed’s son, which went viral just before the match, Pakistan opening batsman Azhar Ali also took to Twitter to share a few photos of Dhoni, Virat Kohli and Yuvraj Singh posing with his sons on 20 June.
Azhar’s photos drew cheers on Twitter, with many users applauding the gesture by Kohli, Dhoni and Yuvraj.
