The current government’s preoccupation with cleanliness is no trivial matter. It started with the promise to wipe out corruption from the country and led to jhadoos being wielded to sweep. Recently, BJP MPs like Anurag Thakur and Hema Malini partook in the ‘Swachh Bharat Abhiyan’ in and around the Parliament to reiterate the same thought.
Although it was meant to be a drive to spread awareness about cleanliness, Malini’s sweeping skills, meticulous as they were, set micro-bloggers in motion. It didn’t escape the Twitterati’s notice that the broom she is brandishing barely touches the floor. Have a look:
