Generally, when a user reaches out to an app on Twitter, or any other social media platform, he or she hopes for quick assistance – given the public scrutiny on such platforms.
That is probably what urged Twitter user Jay to complain about an incorrect transfer of money by the UPI on the micro-blogging site.
Tagging former UIDAI Chairman Nandan Nilekani, Jay tweeted that the UPI service, aided by the government, incorrectly transferred Rs 12,000 from his account to someone with the same name, but in a different state. He also added that when he flagged the discrepancy, UPI, in turn, blamed him.
However, what Jay didn’t expect was to get reprimanded like a school child for his complaint at the hands of BHIM.
Instead of offering assistance in clarifying the situation, BHIM, in a very sarcastic tweet, said:
School teacher yaad aayi?
Twitter, in its truest form, kicked in and picked up on this incredulous exchange between the two parties.
However, later on Friday, BHIM rectified its earlier stance on the issue by attempting offer its assistance – but rendered themselves helpless in the situation.
Please note how this time around, BHIM’s conversation opened with a courteous ‘Dear’, and was peppered with politeness, garnished with a dash of formality.
