After Nana Patekar and Akshay Kumar’s large-hearted gestures, Aamir Khan is doing his bit. He has adopted two villages in Maharashtra that are reeling under drought. He recently visited the worst-affected regions of the state and decided to adopt Tal and Koregaon, two villages that have been facing maximum hardship. He is committed to supporting and uplifting them.

This is not the first time Aamir has extended aid to villages in adverse circumstances. He adopted villages in Kutch, Gujarat, following the states worst-ever earthquake in 2001.

Addressing a programme organised by the NGO Pani Foundation, he said:

The water issue in Maharashtra is worsening every passing day. To tackle this problem permanently, we have to give preference to the success of Jal Yukta Shivar and similar projects.
