Martyred Indian Army officer Major Akshay Girish Kumar’s daughter did him proud. She narrated out loud what her ‘papa’ had taught her about the Army along with the sweetest ‘Jai Hind' we’ve heard all year.
Little Naina stole our hearts with her rendition of what the Army is. “ The Army is to help us, to fight with bad uncles and Army is to help us not get afraid, Army is to do Jai Hind to everyone...” she said in her sweet voice. The video was uploaded on Twitter by her grand mother Meghna Girish.
Major Akshay Girish Kumar lost his life on November 2016 in an ambush in Nagrota along with Major Gosavi Kunal Mannadir and five jawans. His daughter was only three years old at the time.
People reacted to the video of this little girl, saying how the post was both heartwarming and heartbreaking.
Major Akshay Girish, an officer with Indian Army’s 51 Engineer Regiment of the Bengal Sappers, lost his life during the attempt to neutralise terrorists, who attacked an Army unit at Nagrota in Jammu on 29 November 2016. In honour of his sacrifice there has since been a road named after him in Bengaluru.
