As India celebrates 77 years of being independent, watch actor Nakuul Mehta perform 'Bharat', a poem on India and how great a country it is. Written by Ajay Singh, the poem highlights how India is the country it is today because of the people in it, and the rich diversity that they bring with them.
Bharat
Bharat kya hai?
Zameen ka tukda,
Ya teen rangon wala jhanda?
Jan, gann, man hai Bharat,
Ya Vande Mataram Bharat?
Din raat Bharat ki baatein karne wale,
Bhartiyon mein hi fark karne wale,
Tum jaante bhi ho kya hai Bharat?
Dravidon, Aaryon ka Bharat,
Ram hai Bharat, Rahim bhi Bharat,
Puran, Quran, Gurugranth,
Eesa, Musa, Buddh, Nastik, sab Bharat.
Kahin gupt mauryon ka Bharat,
Kahin chola, chalukya ka Bharat.
Kabhi Marathon, Rajputon ka Bharat,
Toh Mughalon, Angrezon ka bhi Bharat.
Jab Bharat nahi tha, tab bhi tha apna Bharat.
Melting pot ke jaisa,
Teekhe, meethe, kadve, namkeen
Sab ko apne mein milata chalta.
Seekhta seekhta, gilen, shikve bhulata chalta,
Sanskrutiyon ki pighlan hai apna Bharat.
Tum prateekon ko jitna chaahe
Poojna hai pooj lo,
Theatreon mein khade kar
Deshbhakti ke imtehan bhi le lo
Sach phir bhi yehi hai
Bhartiyon ke bina
Bas ek label hai Bharat.
Hum Bhartiya nahi kyun ki Bharat hai,
Bharat hai kyun ki hum Bhartiya hai
Bhartiyon se mohabbat kar lo
Bharat se apne aap ho jaayegi.
Doston, chauhattar saal ka ho gaya hai apna aazad Bharat. Hamare baap-dadaon ne ladaiyaan ladkar yeh azaadi haasil ki thi. Isliye nahi ki kal ko unke bachhe ek dusre ko certificate dete firen-- kaun Bhartiya hai, kaun nahi. Bharat hum sab ka hai. Yahaan Ashok bhi mahaan hai aur Akhbar bhi. Jo yeh nahi maanta woh Bhartiya nahi.
