The MET Gala is one of the biggest events for fashion enthusiasts, with the who’s who of entertainment and philanthropy appearing on its red carpet every first Monday of May.

Each year the Museum of Metropolitan Art’s Costume Institute along with the MET Gala’s co-chairs, comprising of US Vogue Editor-in-Chief Anna Wintour and different celebrities, decide upon a theme for the exhibition which also translates into the dress code for the night.

The attendees of the gala are ideally required dress according to the theme. However, it is not very uncommon to spot various celebrities swaying away or sometimes even completely ignoring the theme for the night.

This year was no different, while there were many celebrities who made sure to stick to this years theme of “Heavenly Bodies: Fashion and Catholic Imagination”, there were others who didn't.
