A Letter from My 12-Year-Old Self to Justin Bieber

How the fangirl in me felt heartbroken when Justin Bieber announced that he is engaged to Hailey Baldwin.

The beanbag in my room is the most comfortable thing ever. I take out 10 minutes every evening to sit there and look around- let the reality sink in. Yesterday evening, the break stretched from 10 minutes to the entire night.

I picked up a pen and paper, gathered all my thoughts and was ready to shed tears all over the piece of paper.

Here’s why:

Was gonna wait a while to say anything but word travels fast, listen plain and simple Hailey I am soooo in love with everything about you! So committed to spending my life getting to know every single part of you loving you patiently and kindLY. I promise to lead our family with honor and integrity letting Jesus through his Holy Spirit guide us in everything we do and every decision we make. My heart is COMPLETELY and FULLY YOURS and I will ALWAYS put you first! You are the love of my life Hailey Baldwin and I wouldn’t want to spend it with anybody else. You make me so much better and we compliment eachother so well!! Can’t wait for the best season of life yet!. It’s funny because now with you everything seems to make sense! The thing I am most excited for is that my little brother and sister get to see another healthy stable marriage and look for the same!!! Gods timing really is literally perfect, we got engaged on the seventh day of the seventh month, the number seven is the number of spiritual perfection, it’s true GOOGLE IT! Isn’t that nuts? By the way I didn’t plan that, anyways My goodness does feel good to have our future secured! WERE GONNA BE BETTER AT 70 BABY HERE WE GO! “He who finds a wife finds a good thing and obtains FAVOR from the Lord!” This is the year of favor!!!!

This letter is not written in blood because I’m 20 and not 12 anymore. Speaking of 12, you have been my world since I was 12 years old. A world where the song ‘Baby’ was my anthem and ‘Never Say Never’ my motto. (If you’re letting Hailey peep into the letter then – hey Hailey! LOOK AWAY, because if you’re a beauty, then I’m the beast.)

This letter is from that 12-year-old self to my idol.

Justin, I first heard of you from a friend who was jumping, like she had a snake up her pants, about how cute this guy in a music video is. I didn’t believe her and thought she was stupid until I saw the music video myself and had anacondas up my pants.

Since then, you’ve been blessing my walls, cupboards, phone, news feed, and in short, my life.

Why do I feel you’re singing What Do You Mean in your head? Okay, stop!
I’ll tell you why I’m here. I’m here with a few questions and this is when you let Hailey peep in because she has to answer these:

Did you feel jealous when he collaborated with Nicki Minaj (who is hotter than all of us)?

Did you watch the music video of ‘Never Say Never’?

Do you start yelling ‘it’s okay, I forgive you’ whenever you hear ‘Sorry’?

Does ‘Misletoe’ give you chills every time you hear it?

Did you fill your wardrobe with purple clothes when Bieber (MY BIEBER) came out and said that it is his favourite colour?

From Bald-Win To Bald-Won?

Even if you didn’t do all of this Hailey, you have him and that will never change.
I just want to take this moment and say that I did all of that.
