22 out of a total of 25 Jamie Oliver’s UK restaurants are being shut down, taking away almost 1,000 jobs owing to insolvency. Another 300 jobs at the remaining three restaurants remain at grave risk. The restaurants that are still in business are the three outlets at Gatwick airport. KPMG is overseeing the remaining restaurants and the entire situation as a process of bankruptcy protection, according to a report by The Guardian.
This very celebrated chef tweeted about the shutting down of his restaurants informing his fans of the sad news and thanking his fans and fraternity for all the support hitherto.
Oliver, 43, is one of the renowned celebrity chefs apart from being an restaurateur, TV show host and author. There was no lookback for him after launching Jamie’s Italian restaurants in 2008 until recently.
Back in October 2017 as well, Oliver had to terminate the publication of his food magazine owing to cash crunch.
