I don’t think I (Humans of Hindutva) have a massive following but it’s nice to see it grow. As for the trolls, I feed-off them. Hatred gives me energy. This page was started as a reaction to hatred and continues because of hatred. I would have quit a long time back but the hundreds of abusive messages I get in my inbox each day keep me going.Humans of Hindutva to The Quint
Unfortunately, it seems on Saturday, the Humans of Hindutva creator had enough of this sh*t. The ‘hatred of trolls’ won as it successfully sucked out all its energy. How else would you explain its sudden exit from the land of social media?
This is it... The last post we’re gonna read from Humans of Hindutva. HoH on Saturday called it quits because... “It’s not worth a f****ng bullet in my f****ng head. #RIPFreeSpeech #DeathByText
Humans of Hindutva page on Facebook “takes potshots at fundamentalists hiding in plain sight”. HoH was highly inspired by the Humans of New York that features stories of aam adamis on the streets of New York.
But it seems, HoH stopped tickling readers’ funny bones, and began nettling them instead. The anonymous writer was tired of justifying his work.
But now it’s come to the point where I have to argue with people who I thought were on the same side as me. I’m tired of explaining the intention behind my words again and again and again...Humans of Hindutva’s final post
In fact, this year HoH was blocked for 24 hours by Facebook for their post on Indian Army Chief General Bipin Rawat and his comment on Kashmiri protestors. In an interview with The Quint, the creator of HoH was unaffected by the ban.
Getting banned is part and parcel of running such a page. I wrote an open letter to Facebook explaining my position and they were nice enough to unblock me. However, of late, they have limited my reach. I don’t mind because I do this for myself and for the few people who follow my page. Perhaps it was naïve of me to think that a corporation would take a stand with the individual rather than the government. There are several pages that openly make racist and sexist jokes, but they have been given free rein by Facebook. I’m starting a satire website soon so that I’m not completely at the mercy of Facebook.Humans of Hindutva’s interview to The Quint
The page took on the sangh brigade and added a spin on current, social and political issues. It’s latest (and the last) being on journalist Gauri Lankesh’s murder which was posted on Thursday:
“Chi chi. Such trial by media. I only believe news if they come straight from the horse's (cow's?) mouth.”
What was amazing is how HoH is a one-man-army or like the man himself likes to be called , “one-man-har*mi”.
I only post two-three times a day when I find the time. I don’t know why people think this is run by a group when these ramblings clearly come from one juvenile brain.HoH told The Quint
The creator till now had published over 80,000 words of original 'content' in a short span of 5 months.
Goodbye Humans Of Hindutva!
