Game of Thrones’ final season’s epic battle scene was filmed for 55 days consecutively, according to Watchers on the Wall. ‘Watchers on the Wall’ is a website that houses all the information franchise fans are hungry for.

Previously, the greatest battle ever shot on GoT was the Battle of the Bastards and the Loot Train ambush, each of which swallowed about a month of precious production time.

However, the battle that Watchers on the Wall has been following since January this year took 55 days to shoot. Touted as the largest battle sequence ever in GoT, the shoot came to a close after months of night shoots at the Moneyglass set in Toome, Northern Ireland.

Jonathan Quinlan, an Assistant Director, shared the following post on Instagram after the arduous shoot was over:

‘Watchers on the Wall’ claim that this battle sequence will be the biggest, most expensive action scene one that has ever been seen on TV. The shooting time obviously doesn’t translate to screen time, so this may or may not be the longest battle in the show, but it will certainly be the most elaborate.

The audience will, however, have to wait for a whole year to witness this epic clash. Till then, here a recap of all that’s gone down in the show.
