Social media tells you that a work-life balance is possible. Facebook posts tell us to live our lives, not work our butts off. Tumblr is filled with blogs about self care; And even a brief scroll through Instagram leads us to think that our year would be incomplete if we didn't take at least one trip of epic proportions.
But our workplaces are the exact opposite. In a world where you’re just a WhatsApp message away at any time of the day, it’s hard to ever feel like you’re away from work, and balancing it with the rest of your life appears to be impossible. There may or may not be a solution though… Does the perfect job (ergo, one that creatively fulfills you while giving you some actual time off) exist?
