Virat Kohli might be the fastest cricketer to make 11,000 runs in ODI history, he might be one of the most charismatic captains of the Indian cricket team, but there is no doubt that he’s Delhi’s true-blue son.
While Virat was busy captaining in the India vs Pak match at the Old Trafford on 16 June, Ben Stokes, the cricketer and whose name is the homophone to one of Virat’s oft used ‘Dilli’ nouns when excited on the pitch had a LOL-worthy moment on Twitter.
The England team cricketer tweeted to call out Kohli’s fans for the incorrect lip reading they do every time Kohli’s excited or angry at the pitch!
Now don’t get me wrong. I’m not blowing the moral police siren. I get it, some curses are just so sinfully fun (wrong, but oh come on).
And maybe, Kohli is actually yelling Ben Stokes? Yeah sure, of course. What better way to express your emotions than shouting a good ol’ “Ben Stokes” out loud? ...RIGHT.
The tweet soon went viral. In fact, actor Jaaved Jaaferi even tweeted about the running joke a while back.
Twitterati soon caught up and responded well!
Sorry Ben, looks like it’s still funny. We’ll miss you on Twitter.
