6 April is a very special day for our family. Today my cousin Junaid Ahmad has achieved something which we have been waiting for since a long time. It wasn't just a dream come true for the family, but we had sheer confidence and faith that Junaid will surely come out with flying colours one day.

He has finally cleared the prestigious UPSC exams. He is the third-topper ranked among 759 other candidates. This is quite an emotional moment for our family.

We had seen his determination and hard work for all these years. This was his fifth attempt. He obtained 352 rank last year, which he wasn't satisfied with. He believed in himself and knew he could do way better. So he decided to reappear for the examinations. And now he’s a TOPPER.

When I finally got to speak to him, I asked him to take some rest, he deserves it.

We were literally in tears of joy as we got the news that he ranked third this time. I spoke to his mother over the phone and she was trilled. My aunt still thinks it’s a dream!

Junaid hasn’t slept since the results were declared and his phone hasn’t stopped ringing.

When I finally got to speak to him, I asked him to take some rest, he deserves it. Right now, he’s training for IRS because of his rank last year. But he’ll soon start with his training for IAS.

He wants to serve the nation with all his potential.

I remember meeting him a couple of years ago, when he had come to Mumbai for his coaching in Hajj committee. He had made a few unsuccessful attempts at the Civil Services Exams. I told him to take a break and look for other opportunities, but Junaid was determined. He worked much harder than before and look now, he has finally achieved his goals.

He is a true inspiration to me and the entire nation. He has been the most notorious child in our childhood and now he is the most successful amongst us all due to his hard work.

Allah has been kind to him and our family. This Eid will be even more special for us as we will all meet in Nagina and celebrate Junaid’s success.
