Dear Soldier,
As you read this message, I want you to know that we are eternally grateful to you and your family members, whose selfless sacrifices enable our nation to remain safe and secure. Coming from a family full of soldiers, I know how difficult it is for the family members, who worry and pray for your safety day and night. Please do know joining those millions of prayers, is mine too.
Many a times, those who live a comfortable life in the safety and security of some city, far away from the border of an inimical nation, tend to question the motive behind you joining the defence services. They tend not to see beyond the obvious ‘employment and salary’ parameters, for that is what defines their lives. But to those who know what valour and courage it takes to stare into the eyes of the enemy day in and day out, and to face their bullets every day, you remain our heroes.
From protecting our borders to rescuing our people during the times of every natural calamity – be it floods, landslides, fire, earthquakes – you have always taken the lead to protect and serve our nation and its people. No one in our nation has sacrificed as much as you all have. For me you all remain an inspiration.
Please accept humble and heartfelt gratitude on behalf of my family, my community and our nation. Wishing you all a very Happy Republic Day.
