Dear Soldier,
How are you? Hope you are doing fine? It must be cold, deserted, lonely out there, at the border. Perhaps all you have is the cold winds, sound of the waves and maybe at times, the sound of gunshots to give you company.
I am writing this letter to let you know that though I may not express it often, the truth is – you are in my heart and mind, all the time. Every time we hear the news of ceasefire violation or an enemy attack at the border, we send out a silent prayer that God must protect you and you must win.
We are safe with our families and loved ones, because we know you are out there to guard us. Thanks for ensconcing us.
We also appreciate you for having chosen the country over other things. For you, family and friends take a backseat when it comes to guarding the nation from the enemy.
You have braved the cold, fought the enemy, have had many sleepless nights and sacrificed your life for us, for which we are greatly indebted to you.
It is because of you, dear soldier, that our hearts swell with pride when you destroy the enemy and we cry a river when you bleed. It is only you, who can serve the country selflessly.
May the Almighty protect you and keep you safe from the enemy and may the answer to the question, “How is the josh?” always be, “High Sir”.
Thanks, Pranjali
