Dear Soldier,
You are so strong to be fighting enemies on our nation’s borders, on high altitudes, through snowstorms, in freezing temperatures or in scorching deserts. You also fight fearlessly in enemy corridors, and launch surgical strikes to eliminate terror. I salute your courage.
It is inspiring to see that you stand strong in the snow, and don’t let the enemy put their foot down in our territory. While you take a bullet for the nation and fall to the ground, you make sure that the tricolour is always flying high. I bow down to you.
Many of you have been martyred for the nation. Guru Gobind Singh ji comes to mind, who sacrificed everything for the country and dharm. Jhansi ki Rani, Bhagat Singh, Subash Chandra Bose, Tantia Tope are many other examples.
Because of all your sacrifices, we live peacefully in our homes. Without the sacrifices of our freedom fighters, we would perhaps still be under British rule. I take your name in the same breath as these greats.
I request the government to provide you with all the facilities at the borders, we citizens too are always there to support your families.
Happy Republic Day and Jai Hind!
BS Vohra,
Delhi
