Dear soldier,
Thank you for defending our nation and for serving our country.
I am sorry you miss many things – your family, your home, fresh cooked food, and the yummy summer mangoes.
One day, I hope to meet you. I have a lot of questions for you.
What is it like to be a soldier? Do you get any free time? Are you able to meet your family often? Do you have to exercise everyday? How do you celebrate Republic Day?
I hope I grow up to be like you – brave, selfless and fearless.
My grandfather was a soldier. I am very proud of him and I am sure your family is very proud of you too.
I salute you. A very happy Republic Day to you!
Thank you again.
