Dear Soldier, I Dedicate This Poem to You

Dear soldier,

We might be sons and daughters of the same soil but you grew up to be the more responsible one. Here is a small poem for you.

SOLDIERS - TRUE HEROES
I do not know your name,
nor for which battle you martyred.
Volunteered for a thankless job,
with no weekends and comforts.

I do not know your home,
nor the tears that were cried.
You went where others feared to go,
solely accepted eternal loneliness and despair.

I do not know where you rest,
nor the broken promises with the loved ones.
I do not know your uniform,
and your fears lay unspoken.

But I know your spirit exists,
the courage that admires.
And your sacrifice is honoured,
by each soul as an inspiration.

You fire to extinguish war and stay up to fight,
so that we could sleep in peace.

Thank you, to guardians unknown
for offering yourselves for us.
