Come Sunday, India meets Pakistan a second time in a span of one week for the Asia Cup in Dubai. I’m still reeling from Pakistan’s loss at the hands of India on 19 September, in the group stage. I am hoping Sunday turns out to be different when the arch-rivals meet for yet another clash in the Super Four round .

Who doesn’t like watching India-Pakistan matches? And it’s not just the obvious reason for it, but because there are a few Indian players that we enjoy watching on the field. Come on, there would some Pakistani players that our friends from India would also enjoy watching. Right?

So I asked a few of my friends which Indian cricketers they liked the most and the answers were not that surprising. Virat Kohli and MS Dhoni were on almost everyone’s lips.

“Virat Kohli is the best player in the Indian cricket team. You really enjoy watching him (Kohli) play. It’s a thrill to watch him and he can take control and change the game.”

Actually, even my favourite is Virat Kohli. I think he is someone who can be paired with the likes of Sachin Tendulkar and the legendary Sunil Gavaskar.

However, while we talked cricket, there was no way we could have ignored ace Indian tennis player and wife of Shoaib Malik, Sania Mirza. Before anyone says anything, let me make it clear that not just me but a lot of people in Pakistan are proud of her and her game. She is a Wonder Woman!

“Obviously we feel proud when we see Sania Mirza. Not only does she represent India, but also Asia, the subcontinent. We should be very proud to see her play at an International forum.

I also asked people who would they choose if India were to elect a former cricketer as their prime minister, like we voted Imran Khan to power.

So some of my friends wished for Navjot Singh Sidhu to be the Prime Minister of India because of his recent gesture of coming to Pakistan for the swearing-in ceremony of Imran Khan.

They also think with Sidhu and Imran Khan as leaders, India and Pakistan can have a better future. But right now, the only future I am concerned about is Sunday’s game. May the best team win!
