Fashion week always brings out the fashionista in us as we diligently check out every single outfit showcased on the runway. We then proceed to save all the designs we fall in love with not because we plan on purchasing them but as reference material for our nearby ‘tailor-aunty’ (for an upcoming wedding, perhaps).

In the absence of deep pockets, imagination has been our only friend. It comes in handy when we imagine ourselves strutting down the runway in clothes we are too poor to buy. It is time to take our imagination a little further, here are some outfits we would love to see on our favourite stars strutting in.

Kangana Ranaut

Kangana Ranaut can pull off almost anything with her ‘take-no-prisoners'’ attitude. An Abraham and Thakore striped saree with a shirt and tie will be just the right match for this daring diva. All she will need is a dash of red lipstick and Ms Ranaut will own the red carpet in this futuristic style.

Sonam Kapoor

If anybody has reinvented the saree with her unconventional style, it’s Sonam Kapoor. From pant-style to dhoti style sarees, Sonam isn’t afraid to experiment. This AM PM saree with its half petticoat and an overlay is just what we would like to see Sonam in next.

Alia Bhatt

Alia’s style can be best described as quirky, young and fun. She can always be seen in fun prints and silhouettes which make us think that this Pankaj and Nidhi off-shoulder outfit will be perfect for her.

Deepika Padukone

Samant Chauhan’s beautiful white and gold gown isn't meant for anybody but Deepika Padukone. The gown will make Deepika look like real-life royalty. Since Ms Padukone is really into plunging necklines these days we couldn’t have made a better choice.

Ranveer Singh

Ranveer Singh is the Sonam Kapoor equivalent in terms of men’s fashion. Ranveer’s style choices are bold, edgy and flamboyant. Ranveer can wear a skirt and still look dapper, so carrying off this gorgeous soft red coloured kurta and lungi combination by Abraham and Thakore will be child’s play for him.

Anushka Sharma

The sole reason we choose this bedazzled piece by Dabiri for Anushka is because of her upcoming movie Phillauri. The actress looks ethereal in the promos of Phillauri all dressed up in gold. Thus, she would need an equally beautiful outfit for the premiere of the movie. We hope you are listening, Phillauri!

Varun Dhawan

Varun Dhawan is all about those laid back casual clothes but once a while we do spot him all suited up. Sadly we haven’t seen him a lot in Indian-wear. Thus, this Indo-Western piece by Rina Dhaka would be a pleasant change to see on Varun.

Shahid Kapoor

It is not hard to imagine Shahid in this ink-blue kurta-pajama by Abraham and Thakore. Shahid has never disappointed us with his style and the actor carries off ethnic style with panache. Might we suggest Mr Kapur this outfit for his next red-carpet appearance.

Sonakshi Sinha

Sonakshi’s love for Hip Hop fashion makes her stand out. The actress always gives us major wardrobe envy with her chilled-out style. We desperately want her outfits since it’s hard to wear ballgowns and lehengas in our daily life. Sonakshi clearly favours pants over everything else, making her the perfect candidate for this Patine outfit.

Priyanka Chopra

Priyanka Chopra’s Hollywood stint has certainly made her step up her fashion game and we are loving every minute of it. Priyanka aces red carpets and talk shows with equal ease. We would love to see her in this Vineet Bahl outfit with her signature dark lips.
