Russell Peters
If there’s one thing Russell Peters can do - it’s finding something funny about the most mundane of situations. Adept at poking fun at most things, Peters is a Canadian of Indian descent. He shot to fame in 2004, after his comedy clips on YouTube went viral.
He completed 25 years as a stand-up comedian in 2014, and was listed on the Forbes Top Earning Comedians for the years 2009, 2010 and 2013. One of his most popular stand-up acts- ‘Red, White and Brown ’has sold over 350,000 copies in DVDs. He has performed at the HBO’s Aspen Comedy Festival, The Las Vegas Comedy Festival, Just For Laughs, The Amman Comedy Festival, among many other festivals.
He also has a Netflix special to his credit, titled ‘Almost Famous’, and has also penned a book ‘Call me Russell: Inside the Outside’. His TV series ‘The Indian Detective’, also starring Anupam Kher, is set to hit Canadian television network later this year.
Kevin Durant
A four-time NBA scoring champion and seven times All-Star, Kevin Durant is an American professional basket ball player. Currently playing for the Claifornia-based Golden State Warriors, Durant began his NBA career with the Oklahoma City Thunder, where he played for nine years.
He has been named the Most Valuable Player in the the leagues’s 2013-14 season, and has won the gold medal with Team USA in the 2012 Olympics. With an average of 27.4 points, 7 rebounds and 3.7 assists per game in his nine NBA seasons, 27-year-old Durant has appeared in Four Western Conference finals and one NBA finals with the Oklahoma City Thunder.
Julia Gillard
Julia Eileen Gillard, is a former Australian politician who was the 27th Prime Minister of Australia from 2010 to 2013, as Leader of the Australian Labor Party. She was previously the 13th Deputy Prime Minister of Australia, and held the cabinet positions of Minister for Education, Minister for Employment and Workplace Relations and Minister for Social Inclusion from 2007 to 2010. She was the first and only woman to hold the positions of deputy prime minister, prime minister and leader of a major party in Australia.
Gillard was first elected to the House of Representatives at the 1998 federal election for the seat of Lalor. Following the 2001 election, she was elected to Shadow Cabinet. Upon Labor's victory at the 2007 election, she became the first female Deputy Prime Minister of Australia, and was made Minister for Education, Minister for Employment and Workplace Relations and Minister for Social Inclusion.
On 24 June 2010, after Rudd lost the support of his party and resigned, Gillard was elected unopposed as his replacement, thus becoming prime minister.
Gillard retired from politics on 5 August 2013, before the impending federal election.
Silvio Berlusconi
Silvio Berlusconi is an Italian media tycoon and politician who served as Prime Minister of Italy in four governments.
Currently the controlling shareholder of Mediaset, Berlusconi owned the Italian football club A.C. Milan from 1986 to 2017. He is nicknamed Cavaliere (The Knight) for his Order of Merit for Labour, although he voluntarily resigned from this order in March 2014.
In 2017, Forbes magazine ranked him as the 199th richest man in the world with a net worth of US$7.0 billion. In 2009, Forbes ranked him 12th in the List of The World's Most Powerful People due to his domination in Italian politics.
Berlusconi was Prime Minister for nine years in total, making him the longest-serving post-war Prime Minister of Italy, and the third longest-serving since the Italian unification.
Berlusconi is famous for his populist political style and brash, overbearing personality. In his long-time tenure he was often accused of being an authoritarian leader and a strongman.
