V Shantaram

Shantaram Rajaram Vankudre was an Indian film producer best known for films like Dr Kotnis Ki Amar Kahani, Amar Bhoopali, Do Aankhen Barah Haath, etc.

In 1929, he founded the Prabhat Film Company along with Vishnupant Damle, KR Dhaiber, S Fatelal and SB Kulkarni, and left it in 1942 to form the Rajkamal Kalamandir in Mumbai. Rajkamal would go on to become the country’s most sophisticated studio.

Shantaram won the Dadasaheb Phalke Award in 1985.

Margaret Atwood

Canadian author Margaret Atwood is also a literary critic, inventor and environmental activist. She’s best known for her writing of dystopian, speculative and science fiction. Among innumerable contributions to Canadian literature, she was a founding trustee of the Griffin Poetry Prize.

Atwood has been a professor at York University, University of Alberta, University of Alabama and New York University.

An inventor, Atwood helped develop the LongPen and technologies which facilitate the remote robotic writing of documents. She holds various honorary degrees and has received numerous literary awards for her contribution to the world of literature.

Kirk Hammett

Kirk Lee Hammett is an American musician and the lead guitarist of Metallica. In 2003, Rolling Stone ranked Hammett 11 on the lost of ‘100 Greatest Guitarists of All Time’.

Hammett founded the band Exodus at the age of 16 in 1979, before joining Metallica in 1983.

Apart from music, Hammett is a comic book and horror memorabilia collector.

Owen Wilson

American actor Owen Cunningham Wilson is best known for films like The Royal Tenenbaums, Midnight in Paris and Bottle Rocket. He has had a longstanding association with director Wes Anderson.

Wilson starred with Ben Stiller in numerous films, and is known for his roles in ‘Frat Pack’ comedies and as well as voicing ‘Lightning McQueen’ in the Cars franchise.

Wilson’s brothers Andrew and Luke are also actors whom he has collaborated with on various occasions.
