Masaba
This was Masaba’s most refreshing collection in the last few years because she gave us a good break from quirky prints. While there was graphic conceptualisation, the style of clothing saw innovative twists. While we love the tube tops in tulle, the favourite has to be the tasseled sari which is so sassy and yet so easy on the eyes.
Shivan & Narresh
Undoubtedly, the champions of swimwear, it’s amazing to see that they’re expanding their repertoire so gracefully. We have seen cover-ups and saris being whipped out of their label earlier as well, but this whole collection didn’t just have them as alternate options but they bagged the spotlight. How to make beachwear a stylish affair is what one learnt from this season’s collection. After all, everyone is incorporating a pool or beach shenanigan in their wedding agenda.
Payal Khandwala
Payal Khandwala stays true to her innate aesthetics and has just polished in her new resort line. There’s colour but not one that would overwhelm, there’s style of course but truly understated. Doesn’t that in itself spell out Payal Khandwala to you? The line had a metallic tone to it and the simplicity and ease of the cuts in the garments stood out as total winners.
Monisha Jaising
Monisha tells you how to create a party out of pretty much nothing. If you see her combinations, you realise that she just picks out a normal top, dress or skirt and pairs it smartly to give you a stunning finish. Pullovers, corsets, jackets; all you need to do is recycle your dumped clothes and honestly, you can match the Monisha Jaising style.
