We all want to live the royal life and this announcement is sure to make you want it even more. Jodhpur’s luxurious Umaid Bhawan Palace has been named the world’s best hotel in TripAdvisor’s 14th Traveller’s Choice Awards.

While we’re glad the hotel has been adjudged the best, we’re really not surprised. Want to know why? Feast your eyes on this majestic structure as we show you the World’s Best Hotel for 2016.

The foundation of Umaid Bhawan was laid in 1929 with the objective of providing employment to the famine-stricken farmers of the area. Over 2,000 people were employed to build the grand palace. The palace was completed in 1943, at an estimated cost of Rs 11 million.

Precision is the key to success and that is clearly the case for Umaid Bhawan. Take a look at the interior and architecture.

A horse-carriage ride will be the perfect cherry on top of your already fantastic stay.

The Umaid Bhawan Palace consists of 347 rooms, which can cost anywhere between Rs 30,000 to Rs 2,00,000 per night. Absolutely affordable, isn’t it?

Until you save up and are ready to splurge, our advice is for you to pretend this is how your living room looks when you walk in.

Oh, how did we forget, here’s the red-carpeted entrance you should imagine too.

Ok promise, this is the last one.

While we continue to feast your eyes on the gorgeous palace, we’re off to save some moolah. Umaid Bhawan, here we come.

See you at the palace (hopefully)!
